    Follow-up to Excel

After about 2 years the product turned hard and cracked. I replaced some areas and from my experience do not consider the clear Excel a long term sealing product.

There appear to be several Excel named sealants, which one are you referring to? TIA for the clarification.

I made a bad mistake, the product is Lexel Clear Adhesive Caulk and not Excel. Thanks for the reply and ability to correct my mistake.

    You used this? https://www.sashco.com/products/lexel/
I thought it was the be all and end all for RV sealing so I bought a tube. I was going to put it use when I head south soon.

My experience with the product is that it is easy to place after cleaning and you can put on additional layers if needed. To me, it is not a product you can put on and forget as the shelf life is short, hardening and cracking after a couple of years. I’m not saying not to use the product but it may have to be replaced when it deteriorates.
