    Water Filter

I'm wondering if Grand Design did away with water filters on their trailers? Mine doesn't have a water filter and there is no mention of it in the owner's manual..............just curious.

    Reflections never had water filters......

Solitude regular series and Momentum M and Th class had water filters.

Due to part's shortages, they have put the water filter prep in those lines, but no actual filter housings. (until they come back in stock)

I just plumbed a Clearsourse dual water filter. Got tired of moving it inside when Temps dip into the low 30s upper 20s.

I extended pex lines up towards ceiling and used 1/2 inch stainless braided lines so I can move it over when changing filters.

Well, it's barely a water filter anyway, really just a sediment prefilter. You can get the same from one of those standard inline marine/rv blue filters, for about $30.

And never have to worry about leaks or filter housing cracking or getting loose. This has been a huge problem with some of the competitor brand trailers out there, and I speak from experience! With these blue torpedo type filters as they call them any drips or leaks happen to be outside. Removing the onboard filter was the first mod I performed on our 2 previous trailers, was glad to hear our new GD trailer didn't have it.

We installed our own sediment filter prior to our 16k soft water tank which is all permanently installed in our front storage area pre-city water Nautilus connection. The sediment filter, which has a clear filter bowl, has really never shown any real captured debris, but the softened water has definitely made a big difference in water usage and overall plumbing performance, maintenance and reliability. In our opinion, softened water has been a much bigger bang for the buck, especially since we never drink the incoming park supplied water anyways.

If you ever have seen the sediment filter/bowl or plumbing from a heavily used inground well system, you probably wouldn't want to drink the water anyways without some elaborate properly maintained water treatment. A filter (or even two) just wont due the trick in most cases.

My 320MKS did not come with a filter. I installed my own. Here is the link to my post in the Mods section: https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...t=water+filter
