I carry a collapsible and rarely use it but I know what I'll need the day I decide not to bring it. Lol

Is rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

I needed a ladder once in 10 years and borrowed one from the RV park owner. I took the one off the side of the toyhauler because I didn't like how far it stuck out. It was never a problem.

We too have the collapsing ladder and keep it in a 5" fence post sleeve mounted under the trailer. When the awning motor died at a campground I was real glad to have had it. It would have been a problem without that ladder.

I carry the same one. The 6' one folds up small enough to fit in my 4" bumper. I originally bought it as "something nice to have" but I used it extensively on our 16 week trip this past summer. I had multiple problems with my slide topper and would have been in real trouble if I didn't have it. It's cheap insurance!

I use to have one mounted on my previous TT to store the ladder in.... I marked it with a "P-Touch Label maker as "SEWER HOSE". I mean who's going to break into it to steal sewer hose!

Now I store the ladder in the pass through compartment and use the 5"x5" tube for my flagpoles.

    Thanks

Matt - we carry a 7' step ladder strapped to the ceiling of our basement with the black rubber straps......one on each end of the ladder. It take up very little space and fits perfectly along with quick and easy to take out/put back in. I use it primarily for cleaning off the top of the slides before we leave a campsite but has come in very handy for me and other campers as the need arises. We also carry a 3 step ladder from Costco (Cosco brand as I recall) to use in the camper to reach the higher cabinets and to use outside as may be necessary too.

    We have one like this:

I originally was going to go with something like that and with the majority of rv's I think its one of the best options. When we bought our new 375 with the large rear basement space really isn't an issue anymore. We bought one of these:

It was the about the same weight (30lbs) as the collapsibles but also gives me a step ladder option also. In our previous 377 I didn't want to give up the space with just the front basement.
