    Hit by a falling tree

A big wind storm in our Washington campground knocked down a massive Douglas Fir which impacted our Solitude S Class 2930RL. Luckily we weren’t in it and the trunk missed the kitchen slide out by about 5 feet. Unfortunately, branches hit the rig and broke the roof decking, holed the roof fabric, penetrated the bathroom vent, destroyed the slide out awning and stove in the bathroom ceiling.

Progressive insurance is good to work with but couldn’t get an adjuster to see us before we departed for our planned journey to Florida so I patched things up and we’ve now arrived in Florida north of Tampa. Task now is to get the trailer repaired.

We live in our rig for half the year and in the summer move onto our boat in Alaska. Ideally, we could leave the trailer with a repair shop for the summer so it is ready for us in the fall when we return.

Need your help in managing expectations and suggesting repair options. Has anyone had similar experience and what would you suggest?

Lazy Days, near Tampa, is a huge operation and may be your only option. That said, and depending on who you talk too, can be marvelous to deal with or absolutely horrible. Let the internet, and this forum, be your guide. Do a search in the upper right corner for Lazy Days.
