    Headboard separated from wall

We have a 2021 22MLE. As I was preparing it for the long winter, I noticed the padded headboard has separated from the front wall. The bottom has completely pulled away. I can slide my hand behind it and I can feel what seem to be staples that pulled out from the wall.

Of course, our warranty expired in October.

Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it? Suggestions?

    Thanks!

Sorry to hear of your troubles. October is not that far back. It would not hurt to call GD. All they can do is say no. They may authorize a mobile tech.

With that said, easiest fix is double sided tape.

You may be able to use adhesive too, but dst is the easiest fasted and cleanest.

Good Luck and please follow up with us.

I've used-staples, silicone, glue, screws, pin nails, the mentioned DST. You will have other items...trim, valances, pantry shelves etc. come loose (I have).
Keep it all, except the staple & nail gun, in a tool box in the RV.

Thanks guys! I’ve already fixed some minor loose trim and things but the headboard seems a little more tricky. It’s heavy enough that I don’t know the DST is enough to hold it and there’s a bunch of staples sticking out of it that’s preventing me from getting it tight to the wall.

At this point, I’m afraid I might do more damage if I start pushing and pulling at it. I put in an email to GD support. Hoping to hear some good news!

Received a response from GD and I have to say I’m a little disappointed. The only information provided was confirming that the headboard is secured with wood glue and staples and that screws could be used but aren’t recommended.

No instructions how to remove or how to reattach or things to watch out for.

I guess we’re on our own with this one.

I think you will need to remove the original staples to get it laid down tight again. You can probably pull them out with pliers. Or snip them off with cutters?

I don't know if I should ask how you broke the headboard.....

Hmmm..... our headboard is secured with only screws. They screw through from the front, where the seams on the headboard cover cross, for sort of a pillowed look. The screws have a cap that snaps over them that matches the color.

Another quick fix is double stick heavy duty velcro.
