Thule Crown Awning installed with no support legs

Hi everyone,

Just picked up my 21G today, it has the Thule Crown (made for Lippert) 5200 awning installed and I was surprised to see that the support legs, meant to fold into the head and unfold to support the awning when out, were completely removed. The awning is very flimsy without these so I was surprised they weren't included. Ironically, the manual for the awning specifically has a picture that recommends NOT using the awning without the support legs out.

Anyone else experience this?

I will have to look at ours, I never have put mine all the way out yet. Even the technician was cringing while I tested it. He said they go out great but have issues retracting.

Sorry, Just looked at manual I have the Carefree Freedom awning on rear deck. Keep us posted on what you find out.

I talked to Lippert and they looked up the part numbers:

671222 THULE - BOTTOM MOUNTING BRACKET BLACK 2PC $25.95
656608 THULE - SUPPORT ARM 5200 2.44M - 8 FT - 2PC $130.95

Just received them and they work great, super easy to install. I guess Lippert opted to sell the awning to the RV industry without the supports.

Yes, direct from Lippert. Turns out you only need to order the arms (#656608) as they also include the mounting brackets.

Do the legs store inside the awning like they show in the manual/video?

Love our Thule with the supports. Pretty windy last weekend and the awning was rock solid. All these rear patio awnings should have the support arms.

Lol Terry to the rescue again! Did you also order the 8 foot supports? I see they offer a 10 foot as well.
