4x4, Do you remember the size of the allen wrench? I have 2 containers of them and of course not the size I need. @Overtaxed maybe you can help with the size?

The Allen wrench size is 5/16" however mine is on very tightly. Going to use a ½" drive socket with attached 5/16" Allen. May use a breaker bar while someone else holds the other side, it's really tight.

Use some heat. It is easy to strip an allen screw.

Just greased my GB over the weekend, the allen bolts have thread locker on them. Used an impact and they came off.

Sorry, just now saw this. Looks like you got it figured out. I used a 1/2 drive socket with a really long break-over. They are tight.

Got both end caps removed, tapped the pin out of one side in order to inspect and grease. There was a very light film of what appeared to be white lithium grease. Didn’t see any pitting or other issues, just simply a lack of grease. Tapped the pin out about 2.5” which is about how much each end of the pin makes contact.

I placed a 4x4 under the articulating head and bumped the front of the RV up or down in order to fairly easily slide the pin back in. The articulating head seems to drop just a bit (maybe 1/16”) when you slide out 2.5” of pin, thus making it impossible to slide the pin back in without some type of re-alignment. Greased everything thoroughly and tapped it back in until 2.5” protruded from the other side. Rinse and repeat. Plenty of beautiful grease in there now!

Heading to the hardware store tomorrow to get 2 hex bolts.

Does anyone know the correct torque when tightening the bolts?

Special thanks to @Overtaxed and all others who provided information. Hoping this takes care of the issue and will be done every 6 months while I’m packing the wheel bearings.
