    Island counter top extension

Just finished adding a folding countertop extension for my 303. Fairly easy project. I reinforced the end of the island with 5/8 plywood inside by the drawers then added 1x4 strips to the outside of the island stained to match. Used folding shelf brackets for the counter extension. Matt&Dana,
Awsome Job!. Do you mind if I steel your idea for my 303? You should think about providing details to GD as a design improvement. This should be standard on all islands.

I'm not sure I want a counter extension on my island. We have one of the early, small, Reflection 5th wheels, and putting that on one end of the island will block the access in front of the hutch, and the other end would put it right in the middle of the "living room". I find the counter on the island itself is plenty of room for me for prep work and dish washing.

I think that's a great addition ... In addition to a little more working space it'd be handy for a spot for someone to sit at a "mini-table" and watch the game. (What? You're not s'posed to be watching games when you're camping? )

Life is too short to watch professional sports on TV. Especially while camping.

That would really come in handy as an eating area for extra guests. Great job!

I like this! Now I'm kicking myself because when my trailer was new the dealership chipped the smaller end of my island countertop and replaced it for me at their cost. I was asked if I wanted the countertop for anything and turned it down... now I see this and wish I had kept it. It would have made an excellent matching counter extension top.

You can order a flip up counter extension from GD. It will match the counter top. My parents did this on the 31mb and it looks great.

Hello Matt and Dana - the counter top addition looks great! But I have an unrelated question. We have a 337 which I'm quite sure has the same kitchen slide as you do.

I noticed in your photos that you are using the slide slickers. We are getting a bit of "marring" on the floor and have a slight tear in one area. Curious as to how you like the slide slickers? Does the kitchen slide move on rollers or skids? I seem to recall GD has some issues with the slide height for our model year and naturally want to prevent any issues down the road. I'd appreciate some insight on the slide slickers, how they work, do they move, etc. Thanks in advance.
