    Read the Rec Pro Nautilus User Instructions here.....

    It means don't press in on the little check valve inside the hose connection for fresh water when there is still pressure on the RV water lines. There is even a photo showing what not to do.

    Bingo....You got it! That was my guess but I never investigated it. But I also never worry about turning city water off before turning valves. And I leave my water pump on 24/7 while using the fresh water tank... I believe GD's statement to turn off the pump when not in use means to turn it off while traveling or while using city water connection.
