    Okay, Ford people...Help?

    2017 F-350 7-pin connector.

Went on a short, 250-mile trip, last week, with a bit of after-dark driving.

No running lights on the trailer.

Checked the cables and sockets with a VOM - no juice on the pin in the truck socket.

Hot-wired my three-foot-long 7-pin extension cord, running lights circuit to battery connection.

Now, I have running lights whenever I plug in the extension and turn them off by removing it.

    Crude, but effective.

Are there individual fuses to those circuits on the truck?

    Where would they be?

Under the hood or in-line, somewhere?

Are there known corrosion or wire-breaking issues on these things?

    Ideas welcome!

If I can find a shortcut to crawling under the truck in the dead of winter to trace circuits...I'll take it!

    Have fun!

They are under the hood on the passenger side, under a plastic cover, near the firewall.

I believe those plugs are prone to corrosion. They aren't very long, expensive and easy to replace.

Was your light switch on "automatic" or "headlights on"? I know during the day on "automatic", you get daytime running lights on the truck but no running lights on the trailer. Has to be fully on to get the running lights on the RV. Don't know if I've towed at night yet to see if automatic works after dark for the RV.

Automatic DOES turn on the running lights, after dark.

I test with the switch in both "Parking" and "On".

On my truck there are 2 7pin connectors one outside and one in the bed for a 5th wheel. If you have a 7pin connector in the bed try checking that one.

My 2020 F350 had a loose wire at the bed 7 pin connector the first time I used it. Pull the connector from bed of truck and push/check that all pins are in place properly.

Depending on the year and model, you will not get volts at the truck plug unless it is connected to the trailer.

Had the same problem with 2018. 30A fuse under hood was blown. I believe it was use in slot 67 on mine. Check your owners manual.
