    Pigeon Forge TN Campsite Recommendation

    Hello,
Planning on a journey to Pigeon Forge later this year. Would like some RV campsite recommendations and why you liked them.
    Thanks,
    ED

You can use the search function and find info as there have been multiple threads about that area. After all of my research, I booked at Sun Outdoors in Sevierville last week of July.

Stayed a week at Douglass Dam headwaters CG this past September,
that’s a TVA Army Corps CG so quite nice. As usual with state parks, no sewer but good sized sites and great views of the lake from most sites.
There’s a sister CG below the damn that looks similar but views aren’t as good: Douglass Tailwaters CG

We stayed at Camp LeConte a few years ago. It was convenient to Gatlinburg and there was a trolly that you could ride into town. Very nice people that ran it.

The Smokies are a fun area. Enjoy your trip!

I can't speak to other locations, but we have been to Cove Creek in Wears Valley a few times and are scheduled back there in 2023. It is about a 15-minute drive to the big shows in Pigeon Forge. The resort is far enough out to be quiet but close enough to be convenient to attractions, shopping, and restaurants. https://covecreekrvresort.com/

We've stayed the last 2 years at the KOA in Pigeon Forge. Nice sites, and very convenient. Can walk right to where the Trolley takes you to Gatlnburg drop off site, or to Dollywood. My only advice is to plan on when to avoid the crowds. We went early October and it was prime leaf season and the traffic everywhere, especially going into the National Park, was brutal. This past year, went the first week in Novemeber, scenery still pretty good, and much less crowded. Cold at night though!

Cade Creek is a very nice park in Wears Valley away from the crowds yet handy to Pigeon Forge and Townsend and the National Park, and the new Foothills Parkway. Riverside in Sevierville is out a bit but quiet and very reasonably priced. Sun Resort now charges an extra $25 to guarantee the site you request and seems to be pricing itself far above its worth.

We were stay at Twin Creeks Resort in Gatlinburg this November. Very nice and quiet just outside Gatlinburg, close to lots of places and easy to get around from that area, but we still went into Pigeon Forge couple of times. Starting to plan maybe another trip this spring some time.
