    5r to a TT ?

Can anybody give me 5 good reasons to switch from a 5th wheel to a travel trailer?

You haven't really given enough information to answer your question in a truly meaningful way (like what size fiver and what size TT, etc.). In general, though, I can only give you one reason to switch to a TT from a fifth wheel: everything would be on the same level if you have mobility issues. Other than that, moving from a 5th wheel to a travel trailer is a step back - in my opinion, of course.

I agree, I'm sure some have a very good and legitimate reasons for moving to a TT. Personally I'll never go back unless I wanted to seriously down size with a small TT and SUV

    1) A TT is generally less money than an equivalent sized 5th wheel
    2) A TT is lower height so you have less issues with low hanging trees and lines.
    3) There are more options on the smaller (length wise) end of the market. Short 5th wheels are not common.
    4) A TT places less load on the tow vehicle, so you may be able to have a smaller tow vehicle, maybe even an SUV.
    5) A TT is all on one level as mentioned above so no stairs inside
    6) If your tow vehicle is a pickup then a TT frees up the bed. If it is an SUV you have more options for seating and cargo.

That said, the list of cons is at least as long and I do feel a 5th wheel is better.

Those are all good reasons to "choose" a TT over a 5th wheel, but I don't see any that would be a good reason to "switch" to a TT from a 5th wheel.

Because the person wants one or more of the benefits. They can choose to switch.

After 3 5th wheels, including our Reflection 337RLS for the last 6 1/2 years, we purchased our first travel trailer since the early 90s this summer. All the reasons stated above were part of our decision and we couldn't be happier! We love the new sites we now have access to that we didn't previously, not just because of length but height was a huge issue. We literally feel like we have a totally renewed excitement on camping/traveling.

If there are 5 valid reasons to go froma 5'er to a TT....then there are at least 95 to stay with a 5'er in my opinion. Just moved from a TT to a 5'er after 7 years of towing that tail whippin' POS. $.02
