IGen4500 Running In Front Storage
Has anyone put a generator like this in their front storage compartment and ran it in there without taking it out? Would it be possible to just open the door and let the fumes out while it's running? Or should this be taken out and put away from the rig when running?

It needs to be removed. The only way it could stay in is if you mounted it and had an extension put on the exhaust to get the fumes away from the camper. I doubt you would find anyone willing to do that since that is not what those generators are made for.

Models that have a generator have heat shielding added in that bay as well as exhausts that are specifically routed away from the camper. For those reasons I think putting a portable model inside your camper is asking for trouble.

As other said, heat shield/fire box, exhaust extension, but also intake airflow, but you're also talking a gasoline generator with non-vented tank and, well, gasoline. There's a reason factories install propane models in most towables and diesel models common in motorhomes... Haul it in the front compartment but take it out to use, or haul it and use it from the truck bed.
