Furrion tankless water heater E5 error (fix)
Want to share an issue I had with the Furrion Tankless water heater and how it was resolved.
It's been working well and then out of the blue, when turning on the hot water the control panel would beep and display E5. So, no hot water.
It turns out this was right after a major rain storm.
The solution I found is in the pictures: All you need is a philip head screwdriver.
Remove the 2 screws, pull out the Exhaust Pressure Switch and disconnect the hose on the back side. Blow it out. Reassemble.
Moisture gets in somehow and blowing out the tube fixed it.
Hope this helps someone else. It took me a few days of searching and reaching out to a few people that had the same issues.
Also, if anyone knows the name of that component? I can add it. (added above)Last edited by Riveyman; 01-13-2022 at 05:28 AM. Reason: added name of part

Draft inducer maybe?
Our lake house Amana furnace had a similar issue where the furnace draft inducer had built up humidity/moisture in it over time from bugs clogging up the drain line. Actually could hear water sloshing when the furnace tried to start but couldnt because of the low pressure. Had to drain and blow out some debris as well and walla... its worked ever since.Jim and Annette

I had that same issue last summer. It was after a terrible storm that pummeled that side. Kept getting same error. Tried for better part of a day to determine the cause. It so happened the sun was heating up that side pretty good. At one point I pulled that same piece and played on the hot asphalt. When I gave up and reassembled it worked perfectly. And has since. Now I know.

Thank you so very much for sharing your experience. Just as you described, our tankless water heater showed the dreaded E5 error as a storm raged outside the trailer. My intrepid husband was able to use the fix you gave so well and we again have hot water!

Dear Riveyman,
Same thing just happened to me after a heavy rain. Glad I found your post. Your fix worked.
Happened again overnight. Not raining hard and not any wind to speak of. Blew the line out again.
I'm not an engineer, but I have slept at a Holiday Inn Express. This appears to be a design flaw. Water should not get in. If this was a common occurrence you'd think Furrion would outline this fix in their manual.
My TT is new and still under warranty. I've contacted Furrion and my dealer. I wonder what will be their response?
