    New Kitchen Faucet, Mod

Finally had an oportunity to replace the kitchen faucet. Installed an American Standard with pull out sprayer from Lowes. Used 1/2 inch Pex to 3/8 "Shark Bite" fittings with shut off valves. Install was very easy and smooth. We now have great pressure at the faucet, just like at the house.

Awesome, I need to get over to Lowes and pick a faucet. My dealer was going to replace mine under warranty but ain't no way I'm going back there so I will do it myself with a residential faucet.

    Good job Steve!

The model I used was an American Standard "Mesa". I think it was about $120.00. Good quality, easy installation. Shark bite fittings are really easy to install, just get a good sharp Pex cutting tool and slip them on. The pressure difference is like night and day plus you have a shut off valve when needed. When you take the stock unit off, take it apart, you really see the poor quality. Get rid of it and be done with it.

Years ago when I did a write-up on manufactured homes, the requirement (government) was that anything used to build them be certified for that use. Most of the things so certified were crap. People would immediately go out and get real fixtures and replace the ones installed at the factory.

Thank you for the write-up and photos.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I wonder what's on my honey do list this weekend?

Got my new Delta faucet installed today. Thanks for the picture, Steve. I had to check it this morning in order to get the proper Shark Bites. First time I have used them; they work great.

Enlarged one of the holes in the counter in order to fit the soap dispenser.

Robert, glad it worked out. This was my first exposure to Shark Bites also. They seem to work very well and are easy to install especially in tight spaces. I am an ole copper and solder guy, so this is all new to me too.

Dave replaced our faucet while we were here at Anchor Down. We got a Delta, and he had to make the holes bigger to fit the baseplate, but other than that a good install. We now have great water pressure in the kitchen, and a sprayer that works!
