Filling fresh water tank / freeze coming

    Hello,

There is a freeze coming tonight and so the RV Park owner has indicated they will turn OFF the City Water.

So is filling my fresh water tank now a good idea so that have that I can still have a source for water
...Or, do these tanks freeze up easily too?

With that, approximately how long should it take to fill it (52 gal) if completely empty?
...I ask because I don't necessarily completely trust the electronic gauge ...will it eventually start overflow underneath?

    Thanks!

Fill it till it starts pouring out of the overflow. Your underbelly is heated by your furnace so as long as your furnace is working, there's no worry of you tank or plumbing from freezing. It should take 5-10 min to fill dependingbon pressure. It feels longer then it takes to fill.

OK good deal -- thanks! Yes, it began to overflow out of the bottom.
But it did take about 20 min to fill...

All depends on the pressure and tank size.

On a side note, make sure your sewer hoses are empty and valves shut before the freeze comes. You dont want to deal with a poopsicle in the sewer hose.
