Entry door will not close properly
Hello friends,
I spent two hours today trying to adjust the entry door. I can not get it to close easily. I have to slam it from the inside to get it latched. I tried adjusting the strike plate and just can't get it to close without a crazy amount of force. I THINK it's the door seal... it's very thick and keeps it from engaging properly?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much

You might check the strike plate for proper orientation. The edge should be curved to make engagement with the latch easier and smoother. However, both of my strike plates were on backwards. Once I re-oriented them, and aligned everything, they worked much smoother. It might be something to check.

We had same issue and I finally just ended up removing the strike plate, not optimal but the door closes easier. It's tough to find stand-alone strike plates but I'm still searching for a better solution. It's almost like I need to manufacture / laser-cut some custom specs but have not got there yet.

A squirt of graphite in the latch solved my problem.

Slim chance this is your problem but when ours was new the door was very hard to close and the top was not closing flush or sealing good. After looking a while realized that when they installed the door they left a shipping clip in on top of the door frame. Removed it fixed problem.

On our 2022, I notice if I don't have the stairs all the way down (i.e. the extension legs are a bit too long for the parking space) the door is super tough to close.

Mine was binding bad on the strike plate, it seems like the opening is a tiny bit too small. I do not want to remove the door and enlarge the opening and I really don't trust a dealer to do this
They used round head screws on the strike plate, I ground them as flat as I could and still use a screwdriver.
The strike plate is raised in the middle. I removed it and hammered it almost flat.
These two changes made it almost ok but still slight issues in hot weather.2021 Imagine 2800BH

Our 21G door was hard to close, had to hold the latch open and shut the door. Sprayed WD40 in to the latch on the door and it closes with 1 finger. Been working for about 6 months now.

If it worked before, it just might be your unit isn’t quite level or if you have morryde steps make sure their level and not to high putting pressure on the bottom of the door. Good luck hope all works out for you. ( made just be a issue with the weather too.)
