Need heavier struts to lift bed
The gas struts that came with my 381m are not doing well to hold the bed up. Any ideas of the size struts that would work?

You can look on the original struts to get the manufacturer and part number. From that, you can look them up and see how many pounds they are. The mounts are universal. When I needed heavier struts I didn't have time to order them so I just purchased them at our dealer as we were moving into the new rig.

I picked up the heaviest set that CW had on the shelf (120 lb I think) for our 12" mattress. We have trouble closing the storage area as they are a little too strong.

I purchased some off amazon. Looked at the part number for the proper length and they had ones in different lbs of resistance. I ordered ones too strong also, but at least it doesn't fall on my head anymore.

We upgraded our mattress to a 10-inch memory foam which added weight. We went with the Hatchlift 120 lb struts from Amazon (Hatchlift Gas Springs - 2 - 20" x 120 lb force (508 x 528N) with 10 mm ends). I did not have to replace the mounts, just the struts. These works well with our heavier mattress.

We have a regular Serta dream sleeper mattress. No, the 120 isn't too strong. What I was saying is, with the 120 lb strut, when we lift the bed, the bed settles back down a bit before holding. There's no issue with pushing the bed back down (or it staying down) when we're done. I don't thing 100 would be strong enough.
