As Sande005 said, its whatever you want it to be. For us, if we've spent the night in the camper in a particular state, it qualifies and gets colored in. To me, its cool to see where some of the members have gone and where some have yet to explore.

I've been in all 50 states and PR, camped in about 30. When the maps first started showing up years ago, the intention was to denote states you and your RV have been in together.
