Ok I did the job by myself. And find that the vent was OK (sorry the pic should be rotated 90 degrees) but the main pipe was too long almost to the bottom of the tank. I also found that this is faster to remove the toilet bowl than cut the pipe in the basement. The pipes are not glued in the tank, they're inserted in rubber groomets. Cut about 6 inches of the main pipe and the toilet works now like a charm! Here's some pics, sorry it's not very fun to see.

Nice work, and a relatively easy fix. The first picture looks like it's inside the tank after you cut it down, nice angle hope your camera didn't get to smelling to bad :-)

Not something easily checked during a PDI though I might be able to drop my GoPro camera (well a $40 GoPro knockoff called a 4K Ultra HD Camera ... great deal by the way) into the toilet on a string and check it out via the WiFi connection I can use with the camera. The WiFi allows you to view what the camera is seeing through your smart phone. Makes for an interesting way to see into areas you can't otherwise reach and the camera comes with a case that's good to 100' under water. Hum, I've talked my self into putting this on my PDI. Thanks for the pictures and great job on the repair.

As I said in my reply the first picture should be rotated 90 deg. It was took by the toilet inlet once the 3in was removed, it's the vent of the tank (1.5in ABS). This one was the right size.

The camera trick, I've made it with a cheap laparoscopic camera bought on Ebay for a few bucks. It takes a light or infra red at the camera end. Very dark in there! I wasn't able to see picture because my drain pipe was too long and the camera never been able to show me other picture than the inside of the drain pipe...

Once the pipe removed, I have took many pics of the inside of the tank to see the auto washing gismo installed in there, tank sensors, discharge valve, vent pipe, etc. I noted that the discharge valtera valve is positionned a bit higher than the bottom of the tank! That always let an inch or two of material in the tank. Guest it's about only solid material. IMO, it's another bad design. Never able to completely empty the tank, and in winter, this thing freeze....

Nice Pictures! Thanks. How easy did the pipe come out and go back in the tank with the rubber seal grommet.

ID:	6400. It's the 1.5inches inlet of the vent pipe located on top of the tank. Pic was taken in the tank inside the 3inches drain hole.

The pipes are not glued in the groomets. A little hard to move for the couple first seconds, but easy to pull out with little twist moves. Put some oily stuff on the pipe to put it back in the groomet.

Just checking in to make sure this is the process. Remove toilet. Remove screws from flange and pull out pipe assembly like in the picture. Cut 4-5 inches and re-install?
