    Moved from 17MKE to 22MLE

    Hello Everybody,

After three very satisfactory years with our 2019 XLS 17MKE we made a move today and bought a 2022 XLS 22MLE. In some ways a very similar trailer. We loved how "nimble" the 17MKE was in getting in and out of parking lots and gas stations. I had installed a trailer hitch on the back and we could mount our Handi generator back there and it would run the 13.K air. The real downsides to us for the 17MKE was the bed and the air conditioner. The bed was one of the original design, and it was a bear to get up and over the DW to get to the potty at night. The air was sufficiently cool but it was not ducted and had to be controlled from the unit instead of a wall thermostat. The new 22MLE had several "upgrades" such as the 12V refrigerator/solar setup and the 15K ducted air. Glad to have the regular walk-around bed again. The long awning is nice, too.

Looks like there are lots of the 22MLE units out there. Haven't seen much negative, so we are looking forward to a good experience with ours.

Congrats, I hope you like it as much as we like ours. It has big feel for a smaller trailer. You'll appreciate the walk around bed.

Fun! We looked at the 17, 20, and decided on the 22. Very happy about having a dinette and permanent bed. Congrats on your upgrade!

We had a similar journey. We sold our almost 7 yo Reflection 5th wheel in June and bought a new 2021 17MKE. We liked it but realized after a couple trips that it was just too small for us. Sold it after 3 months and bought a 2022 22MLE. So happy we did as this could be our most enjoyable RV out of our previous 8!

The only issue for us so far, 3 months, is the slide is not working correctly so it's going into a local repair shop at the end of the month for repair. Hoping for a quick and positive outcome.

Our 2022 17MKE has ducted air and a murphy bed - which fixes both your major issues. If you purchase an inflatable 'Air Dream Ultra' mattress/springs combo it makes the bed very comfortable/adjustable and super easy to stow away during the day.

We have made a similar move 2021 17 MKE to 2023 22 MLE and are loving our decision. The walk around bed is great (had to upgrade the mattress), love the recliners and the additional storage. The trailer seems to tow as easy as our 17 did (no noticeable difference on fuel consumption).
With the increase in mattress height, I built 6” steps on either side of the bed which works great for my 5’ wife plus we can store shoe etc under the open steps.

Welcome to the 22MLE club !
These are solid rigs and PERFECT for just two people. No major issues after 15 trips so far. Wish we had the 12 Volt fridge. We upgraded the tires from Westlakes to Goodyear, but I think those are now standard or require a small upgrade. The only thing that I would recommend would be to change the door lock. Refer to RVlock.com. Great product. Get on their email list, to get discounts on your new RV Lock. Installation was really easy.
