    How to winterize ?

My PDI was not all that thorough so I do not remember this being shown to me, I was just looking at all the Kantleak settings and I see a winterize/ sanitize setting. My question is is there a spot to put the antifreeze bottle to have its contents sucked through the system. I know I am missing something simple as I have had this feature in my two previous trailers. I have a 27RL

    Thanks

They didnt cover it in my PDI either. There are other steps that some take for further insurance like purging the entire system with air to blow out all the water and making sure the shower mixing manifold is empty.

Right out of the manual for what its worth. Im lazy and pay for the winterizing service. Im on a seasonal site and they have an RV service company that comes through with a truck and antifreeze in a 50 gal barrel doing most of the RVs in the camp resort. Its worth the $30 they charge for me and they pump the anti-freeze through.
The manual says to connect the tube to the winterization fill but unless Im blind you have but one choice, the same water outlet used for everything.

Preparing your RV for colder weather or storage is very
important for most states and Canada. Failure to prepare your
RV may cause water supply lines and the water heater to freeze.
No commodity or product should be added to the fresh water
system to ensure freeze protection other than RV antifreeze.
The RV should be winterized at the end of the camping season
or when the RV will be exposed to temperatures that will fall at
or below 32°F (0°C). Repairs due to freezing are not covered
    under warranty.
    1. Level the RV and drain the fresh water plumbing system.
    2. Make sure the water heater 12-volt and 120-volt interior
    control switches are OFF.
    3. At the docking station, turn the two Anderson KantLeak
Plumbing System valves and separate small black valve to match the diagram
    below:

    4. Make sure the “fresh tank drain” is open, and the “low
    point drains” are closed.
    5. Insert the garden hose into a container of RV antifreeze
solution (this quantity should be enough to winterize the
RV); attach the other end to the winterization fill.
    6. Turn the water pump ON.
    7. Open the hot water line on all the faucets (kitchen, lavatory,
shower and outside shower) until RV antifreeze begins to
    flow continuously.
    8. Close the faucet hot water lines and repeat with the cold
water lines on all the faucets. Do not forget to run RV
antifreeze through the toilet, sink and shower drains.
When you are done adding RV antifreeze
    9. Remove the garden hose from the container of RV
    antifreeze.
    10. To prevent staining, wipe the RV antifreeze out of the sinks,
shower (or tub), sink and toilet using a soft, dry cloth.

I am thinking you are right, about hooking up to the city water connection, on my last travel trailer that i just traded in there was a hose right at the sureflo water pump that served this purpose. Just seems that you would have to make up a short garden hose to make this work.

Yes, a garden hose just long enough to get from the city water fill to the bottom of the anti freeze jug. Shorter=better and less lift for the pump.

That is correct. I have a 3 foot hose I used last winter. Hooked it to the city water connection and sucked it right up. I do use a compressor fitting and blow the air lines out first as added protection, just before I do,the anti freeze.

This sounds great what about the hot water tank ? Do you take the main plug out with the anti rust rod on it, can't remember the dang name of it at the moment.

For the water tank you need to switch it 'Bypass' and remove the plug on an Atwood or the anode rod on the Suburban while opening the pressure relief valve to allow air in.

Rob, as I was sweltering in 96 degree high humidity, thought the same.
