Forum threads column

I found a discussion about the forum threads column. This just showed up on the site for me about a week or two ago. In the discussion, one person liked it while the rest were unanimously against it. For me, the posts I'm reading are about three words wide and two or three screens deep if there's much to them, due to the forum threads column taking up half the screen. For me it's a waste of real estate, and I'm about to give up on the site because it's such a pain to read now. Has anyone found out a way to turn this nuisance off?

There's a little chevron (sideways sergeant's stripes) at the top right that minimizes or expands that panel. Are you viewing the forum on your phone?

Thank you Rob, you're always very helpful. I'm using a PC. The minimize chevron shows or hides the threads, but the column is still there taking up space so that the posts on the left are about 2" wide on my screen.

Which browser are you using? Wondering if this might make a difference.

I use Chrome.

Hmmm... that's odd. I also use Chrome on a Windows 11 laptop. Clicking the chevron makes everything but the chevron disappear on the right.

I alaso have the same results as Rob using Chrome . The whole thing disappears. My guess is it stay for non sponsor members, the ads in that line are what pays the bills. We may be getting one of
the benefits of being a sponsor . That being no ads

I think I remember that being mentioned. The ability to close up that column being part of the paid membership.

I'm on Chrome, Windows 10 and I immediately closed up that column when it first showed up.
