Ride Height
Hello folks
I'm still (now impatiently) awaiting my truck. Can anyone help me out setting up my hitch. My TV is a 2015 Ram 3500 CC long box dually. I measured some truck beds on the dealer's lot. Truck bed 36 or 37" off the ground. Bed rails (no payload) are about 57" off the ground. My RV is a 380TH (sitting 2000 km. away) waiting for me to take delivery.
I have a couple questions (1). What height 13, 15, or 17" should I assemble my hitch at? The hitch is a 25K (Curt Q24) made for Mopar. (2) will the RV tow level with 5-6" clearance above the bed rails?

Bob, talking a little bit apples/oranges here but trying to help. I have a 2014 Reflection 337 rls. Tow with a 2013 Ram 3500 dually, long bed, stock. My rail height, at rear wheels is 57". Use a BMW Patriot Hitch. Hitch plate sits at 17" above the bed. When hitched I have 6" of rail clearance. Hope this is helpful. Steve

Indeed it is Steve. Another owner replied on Face Book that the dealer would set it for me. I relied that I'm just looking for something to do while I wait for my truck to come from the factory. Your dimensions are close enough to give me a starting point. Thx

Bob,
If you get any exact measurements, could you please post them here? I will have the same combo, although my truck is a model year older and my 380 a my newer. I am also concerned with level towing when I take my 6 hour trip to get the new RV in a few weeks.

We will be towing our 385TH with a B&W RVK3600 (http://www.ramgunner.com/rvk3600.html). It can sit 17", 18" or 19" above the bed. The 18" position will just let the FiberMax cover it, but I'm going to drop it to the 17" position before we pick up our 385TH. It should be just about right based on the folks I have spoken with on the forum and on the measurements I made.
I'm doing that myself, that way I know the bolts are torqued down correctly, etc.Editor - www.RamGunner.com and www.MomentumGunner.com

Chris. I've had dimensions given ranging from 57-60" rail height at the axle. Yours and mine are identical at 57". What I've learned is that there are a couple of variables that come into play. Different hitches have variable heights and the pin box is also adjustable. I won't know my end measurements until my dealer makes the final adjustments to give me adequate rail clearance with as level a tow as possible. Saving grace is that we have good TV's that any dealer will be familiar with. RamGunner's hitch is as strong as it gets. I went with the Mopar hitch because it too was rated at 25K and my Ram dealer gave me a price I couldn't turn down [emoji106]

Like Gunner, I'll carry a good torque wrench to maintain wheel and hitch torques as routine safety

Hey Bob, I have the same truck as you. Just got it a few weeks ago, with the puck system. Was looking at the B & W Companion with the puck attachments. Then I saw the Mopar one. Do you know who makes it, and if you don't mind me asking, how much did you get it for?? I can get the B & W for $1100. THX!!

That's a better price than I paid. The Mopar is made for Ram by Curt. It's a Curt Q series hitch but rated at 25K. Wait where are you Deven. My price $1350 Cdn before taxes. That'd be approx $1050 US
