Do i need to open the cargo door or the front cover of the genset when running it? I havent so far but started wondering about it, especially with warmer weather coming

No. It will get hot in there, but no need to open the door.

Your intake should be cut out from the floor panel so air flow shouldn't be an issue.

Cooling air flow (intake and exhaust) as well as the exhaust pipe should be through the floor of the trailer directly under the gen set. The box around the genset is intended for both air direction/control and noise control (dampening).

Also chiming in...No need to open the door. Additionally, do NOT run it with the Onan door off. The system is designed to draw air from the bottom for cooling and you will disrupt the design by taking off the green cover.

Designed to run closed. Draws air from underneath.

If you were to remove the front Onan cover while running, it will actually overheat.

I recently purchased a 2018 SOL-375 with the dealer installed Onan. The cabinet door appears that it overheated (like this when I bought it)Click image for larger version.

I nervously ran it (cabinet closed) for about an hour (mid 70°F outside) and checked every so often. Didn't seem too hot.
So without the history of how the door got rippled, not sure what to expect. Any suggestions?

Looks like it may be a defective door. Ran ours in 115 heat and 2 a/c's running and no issues on the door.
