    Maintenance

I just got an email from my dealer telling me that it's time for my "three month maintenance" per GD guidelines. Problem is, the wife is a travel nurse. We are in Northern California, 700 miles from our dealer. We'll be in Texas the last week in June. Is this something the dealer tries to get you to do? Ive never had to do this with any other camper.

IMO, just a source of revenue for the dealer...I would ask what is required in a "three month maintenance"? Our dealer has the "life-time warranty"...provided you come back for all the scheduled maintenance which would amount to several thousand dollars a year and it doesn't cover everything..like axles and landing gear; mostly appliances. We opted out but did buy a 5-year extended warranty that covers everything.

If you didn't get a maintenance schedule at the time of purchase, contact GD direct to ask about their "guidelines".

My dealer charges $125 per labor hour, and I'm not about to give their service department the chance to fleece me. It's just another revenue producer.

Such RV's really don't have any 3 month maintenance due to their being used differently. I see those on websites towing large distances, and I can see brake adjustments and axle maintenance. But my 323BHS seldom moves out of our campground and maintenance of any kind is seldom required.
