Water heater leak at bottom of tank

Saw a water drip from skirting. Crawled into from storage “hoping “ it was just a pex fitting. All dry. Then found water at bottom of water heater on floor. Before I begin to disassemble stuff has anyone had the same problem? I have diligently replaced the anode rod so I doubt the tank is rusty.
    Thank y’all!!

Loose fitting/hose, or, heaven forbid, the check valve on the top of the tank. That's what our was, and what a pain to change. They're plastic and can crack.

I had water leaking at the same place. I found out the pex clamp for the inlet to the water heater was lose. I just replaced it with stainless steel hose clamp. So far it’s kept it dry. Hope your issue isn’t actually a leak in the tank.

I just replaced my check valve on my water heater. The one on the hot water outlet at the top, back of the tank.

We’ll upon further investigation I found a lot of rust at the bottom of the tank just inside of where the cold line goes into the tank with a slow flow of water coming from inside the insulation past that on the right side. Rust ??
I fear the tank is bad. There is a 3 year Suburban warranty on the tank only , no labor. That’s probably my next battle.

It’s an easy replacement. I did mine at a campground. The worst part is having to empty your basement to gain access to the rear of the water tank.
