Wineguard Question
Howdy all- We are on our maiden break-in voyage on our 2022 303RLS and have discovered a few things we have not had to contend with before. The 1st thing is the Wineguard hot spot system. What are you using as a gateway devise? What did you have to purchase to make everything work?
Thanks in advance

we installed the wineguard gateway router and got an att sim card for the wifi there are many youtube videos on the installation process but is it fairly easy. we tested out the operation on a recent week long trip. we had good att signal and were able to connect for internet and perform work as well as stream video for tv services and netflix.

We also installed the Winegard Gateway with an ATT Hotspot Card. Worked great using the Hotspot. If the campground offers wifi, there is downside/flaw with the Gateway. It will only connect to a 2.4 Ghz signal. Recently stayed at Little Arrow in Townsend, TN. They offered a great 25 Mbps signal but was only broadcast on 5.0 Ghz so we could not take advantage of their free wifi. Called Winegard and no plans to upgrade Gateway in the works. Disappointed.

You might consider a travel router. This one (https://smile.amazon.com/GL-iNet-GL-.../dp/B09N72FMH5) supports 5.0 GHz. It connects to the campground wifi and then all of your devices can connect securely to it.

We did the same thing on our 337RLS... and used a VZW Sim card... worked well... the only suggestions I may add... the wiring was not well marked in the port where you place the gateway router... and we opted for an unlimited data plan for our Sim card... suggest if you have good camp wi-fi, use that for non-proprietary stuff to keep the data off of your carrier's network... will save some $$$ streaming over the gateway router uses a ton of data... if you have good cell phone signal without using the gateway... dont connect to the gateway and just use your cell phone, esp if you have unlimited data on them.

We installed the Extra for the Gateway but dealer could’t (wouldn’t) install the on/off switch so it was always on and drained the battery. They installed another battery disconnect between the battery and the GD battery switch. We have yet to be able to access the Wineguard but plan to use mobile hotspot off of one of our Verizon devices when we figure it out. Unfortunately need shore power to use TV and that is not available in storage and can’t park it at home because of HOA
