    GD 29RS and Furrion question

Hello everyone! New member, new owner and long time camper. Just traded an old friend (Cobra Sunrise) after 20 years of family and fun! It served us well and raised a family in the outdoors.

I just installed a Furrion FOS48TA-BL Wireless Observation System on our new 2015 29RS. We triple tow and I want to keep an eye on my boat. It looks like the power to the pre-wired system is 24/7/365 as long as 12volts is present. I have not tested the battery cut off but I am assuming it will shut it down. I just removed every 12v fuse from the power panel and it stayed up the entire time. han

    Thanks!
    Scott and Kim

Welcome to the forum and GD. Just a little tidbit, you do know that the hitch on the RV is only rated at 300 lbs, about good enough for a bike rack and that's about it.

Thanks Justinthyme - yes I did check into with the dealer and online before buying. Technically the hitch is considered a class III (6000GW and 600TW) but its more spec'd out like a class I (2000GW and 200TW). Either way I still plan on keeping a close eye on it this first trip. On our Cobra I ended up making a custom fitted tow hitch that worked well. The GD TW at 300 pounds will more than handle the 100 pound HW of my boat. Again either way its going to get a close inspection during the trip north.

Anyone with ideas on shutting down my Furrion camera? I kept digging last night with no luck so far.

Hey Scott, I have the same camper with the same problem "always on". If I knew where the fuse was for it I would add a switch to turn it off to keep it from draining on the battery. They only time I have seen it off is with the battery disconnect turned off and the shore power disconnected.

Found the fuse that powers the camera and maybe a few other things. It's the 15 amp fuse labeled hutch. The wire coming from the bottom of the fuse is orange not purple so I assume it probably powers other things like the hutch fan switch. Once I figure out a way to get to the back side of the panel I will add a switch so I can turn it off.

Thanks Huey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will look into it tonight.

Just back from our first camping trip and everything went great. Triple Tow had no issues and the fishing was fantastic. It is however time to replace the old 96 F250 7.3L gasser however. 6.3 to 6.9 average round trip! UG!

Huey, Found it! Mine is marked Rear Overhead but it did power down the camera! Good to go.
