    Resealing the roof

Hello to all. We are getting ready to reseal the roof on our 2016 2600 rb. We bought it used and have never done work before. We are looking for suggestions on what type of sealer, what brand, and about the amount we need to get. upon inspection the roof looks pretty good. But we want to keep with things like this.

As always thanks for any and all suggestions.

I am not aware of any products to "seal" a TPO roof. We are trained, early on, to "get up there" and look around. Tiny pinholes, gaps in caulk, separation of caulk etc. are the worst for any RV roof. Once moisture gets in, it must get out.

Following the endless end-of-season inspection suggestions, include that inspection. I also try to do a roof cleaning as often as I think about it; I found THIS stuff works very well as long as you have a soft brittle (but stiff) scrub brush. I like that it does not make the roof slippery while cleaning.

    Good luck, Tom

Are you talking about sealing the edges and around openings like vents, ACs, skylights, etc.? If so, your rig likely has an Alpha Systems roof membrane so the Alpha Systems self-leveling sealant is the best thing to use. Techs will tell you that Dicor will work, but I prefer to stick with the manufacturer's recommendation. The Serial Number Data Sheet that came with your paperwork will tell you which roof membrane you have - or you can call GD Customer Service with your VIN and ask.

For most areas the self leveling version will do a much better job. I only use non sag on vertical surfaces where the self leveling will not work.
