    337RLS Changing A Tire

Question-if I would need to change a tire, is it safe to use the rear stabilizers to lift the camper to remove the tire? Not sure but I may have a tire with a slow leak and may want to take it off to get it fixed.

    Thanks.

I had a rep at the GD factory tell me you could, but I wouldn't even consider it. I carry a 10 ton bottle jack which is very easy to use.

On our old TT I pulled the good tire up on a couple pieces of 2" x 6" to lift the flat tire off the ground. Have not had to change a tire on 337RLS yet (thank God) but imagine it would still work.

Thank you. Do you think it would work if I used the orange legos instead of the 2"x6". Also wondering if after removing the tire it would be safe to extend the rear jacks as a safety catch for the trailer? I am thinking I could leave it connected to the truck and use my Rotochoks on the opposite side.

This is how I was able to do it. I used the Legos - looks like 5 was the magic number to get the wheel off of the ground:

I have the trailer on the hitch and I also chocked the wheels and used Rotochicks on the opposite side:

I have one more question. I can't find the wheel torque sticker on the trailer. Anyone know what the proper torque specs are?

    Thanks

The wheel torque specifications are in the owner's manual. For my 337, the specs are as follows:
    1st stage: 20-25 ft.-lb
    2nd stage: 50-60 ft.-lb
    3rd stage: 90-120 ft.-lb

I made my own labels and attached them to the fenders.

I'm carrying a pair of 12 ton bottle jacks, and high quality jack stands. Since the bottom of the frame is 25" off the ground, a bunch of wood blocks are required to get the bottle jack high enough to remove a tire. And more blocking is required to get the jack stands high enough to be effective.

I also have a new floor jack that could be used to lift the axle. But I've read where GD says a frame lift is the best way to remove a tire.
