Access Doors on the Garage side of the Bunk

    Greetings and Salutations -

My apologies if this topic has been covered, as my search did not return any relevant posts.

We are using the bunk as storage space on our Momentum 349M. However, in order to get to things stored in the very back of the bunk, we literally have to climb up into it and move things out of the way. Kind of a pain.

I would like to add a cabinet type door (or two) on the garage side so we do not have to climb in and out of the bunk. Has anyone done this kind of mod before? If so, did you have any problems with any wiring or support beams that could be in the way?

It looks like it would be a pretty easy thing to do, but I wanted to check here before I dug myself a hole I could not get out of.

    Thanks in advance.

Someone did it and posted pictures a few years ago. You would have to use the search function to find it. If I recall, they didnt say it was a very difficult project. You can probably call GD with your VIN to get a layout of any structure behind that wall or use a stud finder that works on aluminum.

That's a very helpful picture. Had no clue they only used wood for that part of the framing, good to know.
