    Dog in Truck Bed

Ok, please don't rail on me or sic the SPCA or PITA on me for this question. Anyone run down the road with their 5th and the dog in the truck bed. Saw a rancher with his cow dog back there and a goose-neck trailer. Of course, ranchers and ranch dogs are a breed of their own. My dog (Kitty ) is an 85 lb border collie/lab pound dog, sheds like crazy and my pickup is the 'rare' single cab. Will be pulling a 303 (soon I hope).

Checked into 5th wheel kennels (she'd hate that) and found one from Highway Products, special made, all aluminum for only $1695.. yikes!
    Ideas/suggestions welcome.

    Thanks.

    Gary

No way.....BUT....No need to spend that kind of $$ for a kennel. A standard kennel for a large dog is fine as long as it's secured well in the bed and the dog is comfortable. She'll get used to it........ or you could get a crew cab

CC would get the grandkids riding in the backseat AND staying in the trailer.. I'll get a kennel. First I'm going to endanger my dog then I say I don't want the kids in the back seat.. great 1st impression I'm giving out, eh?
Next up I'll be asking for kennel recommendations? Anyone have kennel recommendations? Never owned one so haven't a clue what I'm looking at doing a search.

    'preciate it.

I have friends that travel with their dog in a kennel in the bed of the truck.

Right up against the cab, out of the wind.

That is the only way their dog will travel. Won't get into the cab, and gets sick unless travelling in the kennel.

How about an extended cab, not enough room for grand kids but just enough for the dog. On rainy or very hot days the dog won't be to comfortable or happy. Nothing like a stinky, sweaty wet dog at the end of the day.
Besides, what's wrong with a little dog hair??
Set up a generator, keep the 303 running with AC on hot days and put the dog in the trailer. The 303 has full access to the bedroom and bathroom all tucked in. What better kennel could any dog ask for

Something like this should work nicely.
