    Backup Camera

Greetings Grand Design Family.(I waited a long time to say that)
We are getting closer to our first camping trip with our new trailer next month: This has been a long winter in New England especially for us as we bought our camper in October of last year and it has been sitting covered since. That being said I have been busy getting things the way WE want them. I want to wire the Backup camera to the running lights so it isn't a constant draw on the battery. Just wondering if I can use regular caulking around the running light or do I need something special like the stuff for the roof? Next question I installed a repeater in my front bay for the tpms, again there is a light on it drawing on it. I want to add a togo switch. any suggestions what type of switch and a creative way to mount it?
    Thanks

I recommend a silcone caulk like Lexel. (You're going to get 12 different answers from 10 different people now!)

Welcome to the GD world...I also have a 376 and love it. On mine, which is a 2020, the hot wire at the camera mounting point is already connected to the running lights so in my case I did not need to do any fancy wiring. Does yours have a prepped spot?

As for the TPMS I added a switch onto the side of the plastic cover that goes over the 12V connections - so easy to turn it off when not in use.

As the oldest rookie, not sure about the "prep spot" any ideas on where to look ?
    Great idea with the TPMS.

Sorry just checked your units specs and it is not listed as having the prep - the 2020 says "Back-Up Camera (Camera Prep Standard)"

    Thank you for checking.
That is probably why the camera is wired directly the way it is.
By the way where did you go to check those specs?

You can just google your year and model - a lot of time the Grand Design page comes up with the info.

I use Geocell's Proflex RV for anything that needs it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C5SHAJE...30AJTVFZ23KBZE. As for the toggle switch... I use two of these simple surface mount SPST switches = one for my TPMS repeater and battery heater - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C5SHAJE...30AJTVFZ23KBZE.
