Don't forget to factor the Lock-tite into the torque equation. Easy to overtorque, especially when we're only talking in.lbs.

Yes. But I doubt that. Loctite does lock the threads from turning. It will not hold the tension of the bolt.

If the A/C is loose and the bolts are not finger tight, then we know the gasket shrank.

My second AC unit in the bedroom was still tight, but I removed all four bolts, Loctited (is that a word?) them, reinstalled them, then retorque then to 30 inch pounds.

The main AC unit, the bolts were either finger right, or loose. Did the same in all of them. At least next year, all I'll need to do is back the bolts off a color of turns, then retorque them.

That is interesting. I have used geen before with my archery equiptment. I thought it was liight,,,I do know I could take it apart if needed without heat,,, Perhaps it was another brand of thread locker? I have never seen or used purple before this.

I'm not going to claim that I knew this before I looked it up, but when I couldn't find a "light" Loctite, I googled the different Loctite colors. Did you know there are more than just those 4? It kind of blew me away. https://www.tryloctite.in/infographi...product-range/

So saw this post have never heard of this. Took my ac covers off and found two bolts finger tight the others not much tighter. Torqued them to 40 inch lbs and used blue lock-tite started at 25 first then 40. Found had to torque back and forth a few times till they were all at 40. Still learning after 20 plus years of rving.
