Yep, problem is no one knows if that's what the OP has.

The only thing I can grab from the sticker is this:
    3.5L V6 ECOBOOST
    3.55 ELECTRONIC LOCK RR AXLE
    6900# GVWR PACKAGE
    TOW TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE
    TRAILER TOW PACKAGE
    INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONT

I do not see HDD as an option on an F-150 when I try build one online. Like I said, that is what I expected when I special ordered it and if the Dealer didn't do what I asked I assume they have no clue what they are selling.

Ah..gotcha. Guess I assumed from the first post that was what was ordered but I see that wasn't actually stated.

Do you have the truck in the driveway?

What does the door sticker say re payload?

    I am living this nightmare.

We have a 2021 260RD which I pulled with a 2021 F-150 XLT Sport 302A. 3.5 EB and Max Tow package. I was told by both the RV and Ford dealer that this combo was 'perfect' and 'everyone is doing it'.

My door sticker showed a payload of 1791 lbs. The truck has a GVWR of 7050 lbs. This was before upgrading to LT tires, adding a spray in box liner, mud flaps and 3M on the front. When I weighed the truck with the Curt Q16 hitch installed, full tank of gas and no passengers, it's available payload dropped to 1420 lbs. The pin weight of the trailer (approx 16%) was 1380 lbs. leaving me with 40 lbs. for me, the wife, the dog and anything else we put in the truck.

We were also within 130 lbs. of the RAWR.

I sold the truck and am now awaiting delivery of my 2022 F-350.

There is nothing to say that you can't pull the trailer with a half ton, in fact several members of this forum do so, but they have properly equipped trucks. HDPP is a must! All I am saying is be very careful in believing everything that sales reps will tell you. Even the brochures list maximum values under ideal conditions.

Handling is another issue. Pulling a 10,000 lbs shoebox is a lot different than pulling 10,000 lbs. of bricks.

    Choose wisely and good luck.

BTW, the 260RD is a great trailer!

I think I may scrap the idea of a fifth wheel. It was just something the RV dealer threw out there. Like I said the original plan was getting a TT 231rk or the 260RB. GVWR on the 260RB is 7695. At the time I assumed with what they stated was the I would be able to pull 14k lbs that would be more than enough. My though is that 7695lbs is the max it can handle.

We are not looking into dragging a house behind us. I guess once i get delivery I will know what it can really handle.

That being said, would an F-150 without the max towing package pull that?

You need 3.73 gears to get the HDPP option, so as usual the dealer was clueless. Most sales guys don't know about the HDPP'
It's easy to find on the Ford build site. It's under Gears when you click the rear axle 3.73 it automatically gets you to decide on the HDPP.
Or further down under Packages you'll find the HDPP option.
You also need the 7300+ GVWR rating.

Well, I am going original plan. I am not sure how the towing works but I did get the package that should allow me to tow 14,000 lbs. Now is that something that can change or is that not even close to how the cargo works?

What it seems was ordered was a run of the mill F150 with medium towing capabilities
I would wager that your payload will at or be below 2000lbs on the tire and loading door sticker.

The only way the HDPP will show up on the Ford Build site is if you select a trim and box size that it can be installed on.

Also Trailer tow mirrors must be ordered separately, They are not included with any of the trailer tow packages. The Trailer Tow Mirrors are a $253 option. They are Manual Folding. And Manual Telescoping.
