2021 247BH bearing re-grease time.

My highmileage 2021 Transcend has about 10k miles on it allready.

What specifically do I need to do to the wheel bearings?

I'm a newbie at this, so any specific youtube link should be just fine.

Is this a question of a full repack? Or just a few squirts of grease into the axle?

GD owners manual doesn't mention it...

You may need

1 1/2” socket for the big nut
Torque wrench
New grease seals ( the old ones get destroyed getting them out)
Bearing seal puller tool from etrailer
Bearing grease tool
Grease gun and grease
Plenty of blue shop towels
Brake cleaner
Air compressor
Mineral spirits
6 pack of cold beer

And if you are ocd about it …
Replacement bearings and cones in case the old ones are bad and tools to get the cones out and in.

The second post is a great list and video. Add:
Permatex red (for use on the seals as in the video)

If you want to be able to change bad bearings out, add:

Drift punch (dexter recommends brass, but do clean fully because brass will flake)
Bearing driver

Personally I’m a huge fan of lisle and bought their driver, handy packer, and seal puller. All work extremely well and were made in this country, for a fair price. It may be what etrailer sells already. The packer isn’t 100% necessary, but if you think this will be something you do routinely, it is nice to have.

Red n Tacky is a common grease to use, although others also work.

To the OP

Kudos to you for learning to do this routine maintenance yourself. You can buy all the tools for the cost of one visit to the shop to have the pros do it. Plus, you eliminate the level of pro in the pros which can vary greatly, you get to see your brake shoes yourself and will get a feel for wear year on year, plus you don’t have to tow to
The shop for your appointment which will likely be in the middle of the week you were planning to use the rv.

An added bonus is you won’t have to buy new expensive solid lug nuts to replace the ones you have with the cheap cladding that were destroyed by the technicians pneumatic driver set to max torque. Gentle treatment with hand tools tend to get more life out of the oem nuts.

Finally. If and when you have issues on the road you will have much more confidence to troubleshoot and fix things. Just having a breaker bar and a torque wrench for wheel change out is a great feeling when you pull into the rest area with the TPMS alarm going off whilst on I-10 as the sun is setting. Enjoy.
