    Huge Price Increase

We purchased our new 150 Series 260RD in March of 2021.

Was at the RV dealer yesterday (not the one we purchased from) a saw a 2022 260RD in the showroom. From what I can see, the only difference between the 2 model years is that the '22's are equipped with a 12 VDC fridge and associated solar package, and a tankless water heater.

The 'Sale' price of the new unit was $25,000.00 more than what we paid last year.

Anyone else notice similar increases, or is this just a local market thing?

No, it's not a local thing. There are ridiculous price increases everywhere.

Not a local thing at all. DW finally made up her mind and agreed to upgrade to a 378MBS. Last September or October when we first discussed it the 2021 we thought about was $35K less than the one we just bought. I wish she would have decided 7 months ago and save $35K for virtually the same trailer.

Sometimes that price is used as the beginning price. When you walk out the door, you will be very satisfied that you got $10k off the asking price. You will not feel that you got ripped off. Matter of fact, you probably thought you ripped them off.

In the end, they will sell the item and make a profit. If not, it will be an empty lot. Usually, they make money and the 'sticker price' is the starting price. It usually goes down from there.

We "purchased" our 2022 260RD in July of 2021. By the time we got delivery in November, the price had gone up by $15,000.

This doesn't seem to be the case in our situation. We have found, after doing lots of shopping around and negotiations with several other dealers, this dealer by far has the best price by $10 - 14K. This time as well as the last time we bought. Another dealer closer to home was $11K higher and the salesman came out and apologized that he could not even get close. Told us we should go and get the price from the dealer we eventually bought from. Even had the email quote and he couldn't or wouldn't even come close. Prices have skyrocketed and I wish we would have bought in the fall for $35K less but hindsight is 20/20.

    MSRP
    $44.5K in 2020
    $50K in 2021
    $70k in 2022.
    $26K increase in 3 years.
Nothing's changed. There's nothing in a 260RD that comes close to constituting a $70K MSRP.
Ain't no way I'd pay that much even with a 20% discount to $56K
In 2019 a Reflection 303 had an MSRP of $57K.
Yeah it's the way the RV industry is but that doesn't mean I have to play in it.
Normal increases of 3%-5% are fine over the year. That would put the realistic value of the 260RD at $51.5 MSRP and after a 25% discount you're looking at $38,600 OTD.
Just cause they're all priced high doesn't make buying one a good idea.

On top of that figuring a 10 year loan the payment is $580 vs $400 and you pay an additional $4240 in interest. Ouch

Maybe they will slow production down with higher prices and be able to bring the build quality back up while maintaining the bottom line.

Judging on the few same year used ones I have seen advertised, my now 5 yr old 2670MK is worth far, far more than I paid for it back in 2017. Who would have ever thought I would have to worry about capital gains tax if I were to sell my trailer?

Or maybe the cost of wood, other supplies, covid, and fuel to deliver these things effected the cost.

We've enjoyed low inflation so many years, it's hard to imagine this is what it used to be like.
