All jacks down during storage?
My Solitude is in an outside storage lot. I leveled it. Is it ok to leave all 6 jacks extended for a long time or should I only have the front jacks grounded?

I just finished cleaning my trailer up after our recent trip, brought in the slides, wiped down the 4 rear jacks and brought them up.
Says somewhere in the manual to bring 'em up for extended storage periods.Paul, Sue & Wonder Dog Zane

You don't say which model Solitude you have - the S-Class units have electric leveling systems. My comments pertain to hydraulic systems. All six of ours struts stay down all the time (full-timers) without issues. Every 4 - 6 weeks when stationary I wipe the struts down (which are the pistons for the system) with a soft cloth and silicone lube - and each time before I retract them for travel. There is no risk to the system leaving them extended; the risk occurs when they are retracted with stuff on them that could damage the O-rings.

There shouldn't be an issue with the rams, unless you're storing your unit near the ocean where they can be exposed to lots of corrosive salt. Even then you shouldn't have trouble unless you have a spot where the hard chrome isn't thick enough.
I keep our retracted while in storage, why take a chance?Howard and Peggy
