How to remove the vent diffuser?

Can someone guide me to a tool and technique to remove this vent cover? Ceiling vent for AC.

    Thanks

I originally had some difficulty with this too. They are a bit tougher than they look.

Get a flat blade screwdriver and just gently pry. There are two small “clips” or interlocks and with the screwdriver you can kind of feel where they are. Once the first one pops, it will come right out.

It definitely takes a feel for it. Just gently pry and it will come out.

    Good Luck

Thanks. Is that for the entire assembly or just the spinning director?

Could also use plastic auto trim tools. They're a little less destructive than a metal screw driver, especially on plastic. Here's an example:

The spinning part will snap off. The rest has screws, obvious after pulling the center.

That’s what I had thought. I only want to remove the spinner, run a camera down the racetrack. There appears to be locking tab, but it will not cooperate. Maybe I’ll eat more potatoes and pull with a bit more force. Thanks.

    Hi stoguy,

Yes pry only from the center portion not from the ceiling panel. Sorry I missed this but @Huntr70 got it.
