Solitude 310GK 3rd AC Unit
Hello Everyone !!
We have been waiting for months for the new F350 DRW truck ordered. It is finally on the build list so we can now start looking in earnest at ordering a 310GK.
One of the options available on the build specs of the 310GK is a 3rd AC.
Just wondering if anyone has ordered the 310GK or has a 310GK with a 3rd AC?
And if you have the 3 AC's how well do the two main cabin AC's deal with heat?
Our present 5th wheel is a 2020 305RL Montana High Country. It has 2 AC's. We have been many places where the temperature has been in the upper 90's.
With the two AC's the temperature in the present coach struggles until the sun sets. Hours later the two AC's (mostly the rear AC) can finally catch up to cool the place down.
Any advice here would be helpful.
Thanks for reading and responses.

I would order the third ac. Much better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

We have spent two summers (full-time including Augusta, GA) in our 310GK-R with two ACs. We have slide toppers and the two ACs are more than enough.

I had always heard that if you plan on staying someplace really hot in the summer (think Arizona), the 3rd A/C is a must. Otherwise a nice to have and not a must have.

We did fine in our 310GK with two AC's in temps up to 102 degrees after I installed the AC Airflow units in both AC units, highly recommend installing these if your unit does not come so equipped. Having said that, if our plans were to have us in a really hot region such as Phoenix, AZ then it might not be a bad idea to have a third AC

With our previous 378 with dual panes we never had an issue. First trip out was Florida in august and it was upper 90's and HUMID! Even the locals were saying it was damn hot. That was before adding the RV airflow inserts.
That being said, when we ordered our new 375 and the 3rd AC option came up we went ahead and added it even though I don't think its "needed". Mainly because the cost of the option was very reasonable, I could have never added one later for it.
Having the third allows for a faster cool down after a day of travel, flexibility on which one(s) we want running for sound purposes depending on where we are in the unit, and a "spare" if something goes wrong with one of them.2021 Solitude 375 RES-R

Hi Again -
I wish to thank all of you that read this thread and especially those that answered.
This morning, I called Grand Design and had a pleasant chat with 'somebody' about lead times for ordering a new 310GK Solitude.
Now is the time to order when looking at a 16-18 week lead time.
Some of you with comments have brought up another question.
What is an "AC Airflow Unit"?? Never heard of this.
Whatever this is will help when making a decision on placing a 3rd AC on the new trailer.
Thanks again.

This site will explain the airlfow device.
If I was able to get a third QC on mine I would have. I suffered under 108 degree days in the Southwest even with the improved airflow device.Larry KE4DMG
