Over $6.00/gallon for diesel - how high will it go?

Gas vs diesel where I'm at in Oregon.
Gas $4.49
Diesel $5.35

I've towed our present TT with aa 18 6.4 2500 and my 19 3500 CTD.
Fuel costs as of today for a 250 mile RT is;
Gas=$132 @8.5 mpg
Diesel=$116 @11.5 mpg
We normally do 4000 miles a year towing so the savings would be $252.
Not really much to brag about and depending on 1 years worth of towing in todays fuel conditions it could a greater savings or a loss.
Either way it's not a make or break deal for me. I would add that I'm still saving when not towing as my CTD mpg's are constantly higher whether in town or on the interstate. For the most part as long as the difference between gas and diesel doesn't exceed $1.00 per gallon I'm good.

Now that we are nearing summer the news is reporting summer fuel price surges and it will continue through summer.

Here in middle Tennessee gas increased 18 cents per gallon just in the last week.

Idaho Falls $5.09 last week; $5.19 this week.

Western NY - $4.49 gas, $6.29 for diesel.

Here in North Eastern PA, Diesel is low as $5.88 and high as 6.89. Just absurd!

Updated price of diesel 5.99 to 6.85

We're taking trip from Elkins WV to SD the end of the month. Boy are the fuel costs going to suck!! In the grand scheme of things, out trip will coat about $600 more than when we first started planning. Here in my area, fuel is $5.299 to $5.699, gas is $3.999 to $4.309

It won't recover to lower prices until 2024. Get used to it.
