    F-150 Tows great

Towing a 22RBE with F-150 Powerboost Hybrid. Plenty of power to pull, BUT guzzles gas when towing. Have Recurve R3 WDH with sway control. I'll occasionally feel a little suck when a semi races by but nothing that feels dangerous. So far so good.

We pull our 22 MLE with a 2012 Sierra w/6.2l, 6-speed tranny, and 3.42 rear end. As long as you get the WDH dialed in perfectly, it will pull great. My only complaint with our Sierra is that the engine and tranny gets hot when pulling on grades in Colorado that are 11k-12k elevation. May run cooler with the new 10-speed in the newer 6.2l.

    Safe and happy travels.

I have a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 with the same motor and towing package. The towing rating is way above what the 22MLE weighs and our pulls great without any issues.

I pulled an Imagine 2500 from near Memphis to Key West and back, then to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, across the Great Divide and back and then did two weeks in the Smokies with an F150. No problems. The newer weight distribution hitches makes it a breeze. No white knuckles except when I went through a Dust Devil near Roswell.

    While I have a GD 30RBS that I pull with a Silverado 2500 gas, I pulled a Passport that weighed about 500lbs more than the XLS MLE 22 with a 1500 5.3 v8.
We had no issues at all. In fact, we pulled the trailer from Michigan down through the Smoky Mountains into Florida and to Colonial Williamsburg. Never had any issues with sway from trucks or the wind.
With the right hitch set-up and keeping an eye on your payload, you should be fine.

I will actually respond to your question.....We have a 2022 22MLE. We pull with a Chevy Silverado 1500. Our engine is the smaller 5.3. This works perfectly, with no towing issues. We have an Anderson WD hitch, and when properly adjusted works great. You have made 2 great choices. Enjoy.

I guess I’ll be the naysayer. We have an MLE and I pulled it with a Nissan Titan 5.7 rather ok. But the times when the engine kept revving to 2700-3000 rpm’s to keep me moving at 62-65mph was nerve racking. I have a Trekker WDH which was a must. We had very short legs in the Titan, at about 185 miles. On our trip to Big Bend this became troublesome as gas stations in that area are few and far between. Running to Big Bend was going uphill for the most part and again I hated the straining of the engine.

A recent trip to Coushatta in Louisiana we hit an incredible head wind and only managed 178 miles and then need fuel. I got 7.5 mpg. That was the last stress straw for me and we recently got this,

Your gonna tow fine, I just needed a better puller to keep my stress down.

Good luck, you are gonna love the MLE. We have done a lot to ours in a year and still love it.

I have been towing mine 22MLE for well over a year now with my 2021 Chevy Silverado LTS with the 6.2L....with NO issues. We have towed it from CA to TN and back twice now and it towed great. I do have the HD package and trailer mirrors and the full camera system....which is awesome.

I pull a 22mle with my 2011 Sierra w/5.3/6 speed/3.42. When pulling through the Smokies last year, I saw 230 degrees on the trans temp. Over the winter I installed a much larger trans cooler. I’m now out in Utah, pulling 8-9000 foot grades and the highest temp I’ve seen is 184 pulling out of Phoenix on I-15 toward Sedona on a 100 degree day. Once at elevation, I’m usually no higher than 175.

Same trailer for us. My F150 2.7l SCAB pulls the trailer perfectly. No issues what's so ever. I did have to set up the hitch myself. The dealer set up was poor and I had issue with towing the first few trips.
