Lippert Trailair Roto-Flex Pin Box Bolts
Hi all,
I just dropped a B&W Companion 25k hitch into my 2020 F-450 with the OEM prep and set it at the max height to find that I only get about 5” of clearance on my bedrails and it’s still a tad nose down. Our Momentum 397TH has a Lippert Trailar Roto-flex pin box which has 5 bolt holes per side with 5 bolts installed (3 forward and 2 aft) on both sides. The two forward center bolts are shorter than all the other bolts, which makes me suspect they were a feel good addition made at some point. If I lower the box by one bolt, I’ll still be able to install 2 bolts per side aft, but will only be able to install 2 bolts per side forward. Is 4 bolts per side sufficient and safe?

I had to do the very same thing. I lowered it, installed the 4 bolts and then drilled a new hole through both the flange and pin box between the lowest two holes. No problem in 7+ years.
