I hate when I’m right when in post #8 I suspected a dead cell. I just broke my arm patting myself on the back.

10.6 volts at rest indicates a dead/shorted cell. With one shorted cell the rest will boil over when being charged. If not caught early the acid that boiled out can cause corrosion damage. Wiping the area with a slurry of baking soda and water will neutralize the acid and halt any further corrosion.

Notice the white powder (baking soda) on the floor around my battery box. Leaving the baking soda powder there will not cause any problem. I later cleaned it up.

When I installed my switch I also installed a $29 Bluetooth battery voltage monitor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GP1RXYZ at the switched side of the switch. That way anytime I want I can view the battery voltage. It comes in real handy when towing. I can see voltage from the truck.
