    New owner of 17 mke

We purchased our 17 mke in July of 2021 and picked it up in September of 2021. We have gone on 6 trips ranging from Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina. We love the spacious layout. We have had only one problem. The Thermal Cut off in our Atwood Dometic 6 gal water heater overheated and we had to get a mobile tech to come to the campground where we were camping. We were wondering if using the gas and electric at the same time was the cause of the overheating? Our salesperson said it was ok because it allowed for the second person to have hot water sooner.

    Moved to Appliances.

It's fine to run the WH on both propane and electric at the same time - the control board handles everything. What you had was a malfunction.

You can buy replacement thermal cutoffs on Amazon. If you search YouTube you’ll find it’s a very common occurrence. Mine did the same thing and I don’t know why so I bought a 4 pack. Very easy to replace.
