New Member with Generator Question
Good Evening,
I have a Momentum 25G toy hauler, and a 2012 Harley CVO Street Glide to put inside it. I have no prior RV experience but am looking forward to the travels. I've plenty of motorcycle experience. I retired Feb 1st and am about to take my first "long" RV trip to Texas.
I've done a couple of local practice campouts and all has gone well to date. However, I have not had a reason to use the on board generator other than to turn it over and exercise it a bit. I've got a Cummins (4KY-6747R) 4KW gasoline generator. I plan to boondock on my travel days to Texas and anticipate using the generator at night. Can anyone give me an idea of how much run time I might get out of a gallon of gas? I know load can affect that but I'm just looking for a typical average so I know how much fuel I may want to keep in the 30 gallon fuel tank at any given time.
Thanks in advance for you insight,
Bob

Well my Predator barely drank 5 gallons over 70 hours on Freeport TX beach boondocking. I am only a 30 amp RV and we never ran the AC during that time, just water heater, coffee pot, toaster and fridge. I would think if I was running the AC and committed to propane for water heat I could manage 5 gallons over 30-50 hours.
Here are my amperage draws for select equipment.

Welcome to the forum. When I had my 399, it had the Onan 5.5kw and would use about .8 GPH on average. I know it's not the same model as yours, but a good reference point.
