    Very true but, ,, To use that chart properly requires that one disconnect the battery and let it rest for 30 minutes to settle at it's resting voltage..... Most people will not do this. It takes too long, especially when trying to chase down a problem, which usually means several readings.
    Using a shunt type monitor avoids this downfall
    In this case, a cheap shunt is probably better than an expensive screwdriver.

    thanks all for the great info..
    As it turns out, I replaced the converter which corrected the problem. now charging at 13.6 V

    Looking forward to a great week at the beach !

    I would rather have an expensive screw driver to open my beer than a cheap shunt. Especially if I was at the beach.

    As another poster noted, this appears to possibly be your original problem; you may have turned off the charging to your batteries in advertently. Happens to all of us. When you replaced your inverter, you turned it on properly.
