    New Member From Idaho

Life long Texan that just retired to Idaho. We just sold our 2021 Airstream Globetrotter 27 FBQ and and just took delivery of a 2022 Imagine XLS 22MLE. I am already planning to upgrade the factory solar system but I will probably do it in phases. I do have a background in electrical design but have never done in work with solar. I am still pouring thru all the solar posts on this forum trying to decide what will best suit our lifestyle.

Welcome. I too have sold an Airstream and now have a GD trailer. We loved our silver bullet but we can actually live in the roomy GD with comfy reclining seats for weeks at a time. So, a good decision for us. After installing a few lighting dimmer controls and some command hooks, the only thing we miss are the cute little awnings that we’re all around the Airstream.

You will have to add a grease gun to your tool box, Airstreams have no zerk fittings but your new rig is likely to have a dozen or more. And some of that self leveling roof caulking and a little roll of eternal bond tape to keep the water out when a tree branch hits the roof.

You will find plenty of info on solar here in the forum. Have fun.

So... you decided to trade hot summers for real winters, eh? Welcome to the forum!

I was just watching a video on the AS site yesterday (the Classic). Man, are those things built well - but, being full-timers, even the Classic 33 would be way too claustrophobic for me. Now, an Airstream-built fifth wheel with a couple of slides (I know - they built them at one time)...

Welcome to the forum, plenty of folks with solar experience here. Your background in electrical design will come in handy.
