Fuse #8 for Slideout Keeps Popping

#8 The No. 8 15 AMP fuse in the control panel labeled Slideout keeps popping every time I flip the switch for the lights above the dining room table. (dining room table and recliners are on this curb side slideout) 2019 Reflection 337RLS. I dropped down the lights above the dining room table and they looked ok, and I opened and looked at the switch on the wall and it looks OK. This started after I had extended that dining/recliner slide after we had been gone 2 months. Didn't pop a fuse when I extended the slide however. This fuse seems to control the propane detector on the island also, but the light over the recliners work fine. What else might this fuse control and where else should I start looking ??

What size is the fuse that is blowing? Possibly it is under fused. Maybe another owner can verify.

It is a 15 AMP fuse. It is the same 15 amp fuse that has been in the unit for 2-1/2 years.

That’s an odd one. Are the recliners heat, lights and massage? Do they stop operating as well? Maybe a pinched wire on the recliners. Maybe unplug them.

But they should be 120V. Unless the lights are on a DC circuit. Not exactly sure how the leds work on the recliners.

The recliners (LEDs and all) operate on 120v. No 12v or fuse involved there.

It is highly unlikely that the fuse is suddenly undersized.

From your description it sounds like the 12v circuit to the slide-out is shorted.

The place to start is where the 12v circuit leaves the underbelly and goes into the bundle of wires that flex when the slide is put out. Cut the wire and test for a short in the slide side of the circuit and then the non-slide side. Then proceed from there further into the slide if the short is there or further into the 12v feed going into the slide if the short is there.

Yes, that seems logical. I figure some wire got pinched during this last slide in /slide out cycle. Slides have been cycled about 40 times in the last 2-1/2 years. Thankfully we are in Central Florida not planning to go anywhere any time soon. (unless a hurricane arrives). I am hesitant at moving the slide in any distance, for fear of it getting it part way in and stopping. I will work with those wires in the flex bundle and see what I can find. Thank you.
